THE THORN CIRCLE AND A STRANGER CALLED STAR

These highly original hand drawn animations address through a child’s eyes diversity and inclusion with stories which focus on, bullying, and being an outsider/stranger.

 ‘A Stranger Called Star’ created by Children from the P6 class in Botanic Primary School, Belfast  tells the story of a little friendly star, Bad Billy Bobby the class bully and an army of magical smarties !

While Children from the P7 class Fullerton House Primary, Belfast created ‘The Thorn Circle’ which follows the journey of a little blue creature on the outside trying to get in………..

Each animation was created from the Children’s  original stories,  artwork and music facilitated by Writer Damian Gorman, Animator Corrina Askin, Musician Paul O’Hagan

This project aimed to develop an original story idea relevant to the interests of the DAEP group combining traditional drawing/cartooning and story boarding with image manipulation using computer software packages (After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop and Premiere).
