The ArtCart is WheelWorks' unique dedicated mobile digital arts vehicle.
Onboard the WheelWorks' ArtCart you can compose music, experiment with sound, perform on stage, capture and create still and moving images.. in fact you can go just about anywhere your imagination takes you!
WheelWorks' ArtCart can offer both taster drop in and fixed number workshops and short and longer term projects.
Details: During the dark nights of winter, young people from the junior group at New Lodge Arts Academy in north Belfast used torches, coloured gels and digital photography to create these amazing 'light graffiti' images around their local neighbourhood.

Details: Happy snappers of all ages came along to the City Hall to sharpen their photography skills and capture the carnival atmosphere, learning practical camera techniques while having fun.

Details: Young film makers learnt the ins and outs of devising, storyboarding and shooting their own short animated film using a range of techniques, equipment and props.

Details: Keen gaming fans aged 8 to 14 years got the chance to design and test their own platform computer games using specialist beta software, while developing their teamwork and IT skills.

Details: Young people came together from different communities and countries and learnt how to use sampling software to make their own digital music around the theme of St Patrick.

Details: Budding poets and performers put poetry to music, first creating their own audio atmosphere using sampling software and sound FX, then performing live onboard the ArtCart’s purpose built stage to street audiences.

Details: Young country and folk fans tried their hand at composing their own country style tunes, experimenting with their ABCs: Appalachian, Bluegrass and Cajun. Their work was then played over the ArtCart’s sound system to an appreciative festival audience.

Details: In partnership with the Oh Yeah Music Centre, four different community groups in East, West, North and South Belfast took part in sessions examining the work of different local music heroes from their area such as Van Morrison and Stiff Little Fingers. Duly inspired, the young people then worked with facilitators to produce their own versions of some of the most famous hits.
